From 64 questions to a preference report you can review yourself

Answer from ordinary experience, verify each best-fit dimension, and use eight scenarios to explore behavioral changes while retaining uncertainty.

Choose ordinary experience as your reference

Imagine a learner who talks readily at work but wants solitude during time off. Before starting, note the current life context in your own notes. Answer from relatively typical, natural behavior rather than job requirements or an ideal self-image. Keep this specific contrast to compare with the scenario profile later; there is no need to choose a type beforehand.

Complete the 64 original questions

Open Type Preference Lab and start the assessment. Questions appear in randomized order. Answer honestly using the available options instead of steering responses toward a desired four-letter result. When unsure, note the circumstances in which you would choose the other side. Hesitation does not prove a personality trait. After completion, examine the four dimension scores before reading the type placement.

Verify best fit one dimension at a time

In four-dimension best-fit verification, compare each description with ordinary examples. For the talkative-at-work, quiet-at-home contrast, consider role demands separately from natural choices without a task. Then decide which description fits better. Scores begin the review; they do not remove every uncertainty. You can leave a dimension uncertain rather than forcing a choice to complete a label.

Use eight scenarios to understand context

Complete the eight scenario questions and review the profile’s stable preference, relationship compensation, stress shifts, or mixed pattern. Scenario profiles help explain behavior in different settings without directly rewriting the type. For each explanation you accept, add a real example; leave a note for those you reject. Check whether it distinguishes ordinary preferences from contextual responses rather than explaining every behavior with one label.

Retention and boundaries

The report includes four-dimension scores and placement among 16 types, with print/PDF support. Answers and reports are stored locally only. Check the device and browser before retaining them, and avoid leaving copies on shared devices. Add the review date and questions for later observation to your own notes. This original tool is not an official MBTI assessment and is not for psychological diagnosis, hiring screening, or judging another person’s ability. See the official Type Preference Lab site for the workflow and entry point.
