FIELD GUIDE / LINKREADY · Capture & communication
Create an interview summary that can be checked against the recording
Separate participant quotes, researcher interpretation, and unanswered questions while turning audio into a reusable research note.

Set the question and consent
Suppose you interview a frequent traveler about retrieving receipts. Explain recording, retention, and sharing, and obtain consent. Use a participant code. Narrow the research question to retrieval after capture rather than treating one interview as proof of general demand. Keep your expectations separate from the participant’s account.
Correct before synthesizing
- Import the recording into AUV Notes and check its participant code, date, and completeness.
- Review interviewer and participant speaker labels, product names, and technical terms.
- Read the generated summary and select contextual evidence relevant to the research question.
- Separate verified quotations, interpretation, and follow-up questions. Replay numbers and claims about frequency.
- Export Markdown or TXT for editing, or PDF for a reading copy.
Match the claim to the evidence
“It took me a long time to find that hotel receipt” supports one participant experiencing difficulty. It does not establish that most travelers lose thirty minutes daily. Organize the note by situation, current behavior, difficulty, evidence, and open question. Verify quotations word for word; do not put polished generated paraphrases inside quotation marks.
Make review possible
Use consistent identifiers for the summary and source audio. Give each main observation enough source context to locate and check it. Acceptance means another researcher can verify three central claims, distinguish quotes from interpretation, and see the unanswered questions. Remove unnecessary personal and third-party details from the version you share.
A draft, not an automatic research conclusion
Audio import, editable transcripts, speaker labels, and export help handle source material. Researchers still verify the synthesis. This guide does not assume cross-interview coding, statistical testing, or automatic anonymization. Recruitment, sample size, and question design continue to limit the conclusions.
